Rejuvenate The Mind Body & Soul

MOTIVATION MONDAY

We live in such a fast paced society where we are encouraged to think on our feet, multi task, and complete our responsibilities in a timely manner. How many times have you said to yourself or expressed to others how tired you feel? It appears that we are always competing against time and never have the opportunity to enjoy peaceful moments.

If you find it difficult to relax, you are not alone. Too often we think of what’s been done in the past and what has to be completed in the near future. Operating in this mode does not allow the individual to enjoy pleasantries that unfold in front of them. An eventual “burn out” will ensue.

Meditation is a great exercise to incorporate into your daily activity. Begin with a simple five to ten minute meditation routine each morning. Consistency of this regimen will aide in developing thought clarity and reducing stress among other benefits.

Begin by finding a comfortable and quiet area. You may lay flat on your back or sit in lotus pose. If lotus pose is chosen; rest your hands on the inner part of your knees and lightly press your index and thumb fingers together. The other fingers will be extended outward. Close your eyes slowly breathe in through your nostril and out through your mouth. While doing so, imagine that you are breathing in pure/healing energy and with each exhale, you are releasing any negativity. Allow any thoughts that enter your mind flow out (do not dwell upon them). Over time, you will find that you have the ability to center and bring yourself at ease more quickly. You may perform this intermittently throughout the day by closing your eyes and simply breathing, which will assist in avoidance of becoming overwhelmed.

There you have it, a quick and easy reset with a lasting positive effect on your overall well being!
